Ca 1930 An amber cigarette holder with its original fitted leather case. The grooved gold band is marked 14k along with a maker's mark;the case is stamped Real Amber.

Companion piece to the Filipino panel. Made circa 1940,a solid and deeply carved three dimensional magazine rack depicting a female plantation laboring in the fields and a mountain scene with water buffalo on the reverse. Mahogany is not native to the mountain area of the Philippines and is found more easily in the lowlands however, it is among the fast- disappearing species of wood in the country. Slight wear.
