This vintage French silver compact was possibly made for the Universal Exposition of 1889 since the central attraction was the Eiffel Tower featured on the compact along with a hot air balloon and a dirigible. All three were created by Frenchmen and were symbols of French nationalism/civilization during the 19th century. 1- 3/4" in diameter. No markings except for TOUR EIFFEL under the tower.
