| Fantastic early Russian silver purse by Pavel Ovchinnikov, exquisitely decorated with a superbly executed en plein miniature of a vibrantly colored spray of flowers on one side, an intricate bird executed in champleve enamel on the reverse side; on each half, the central panel is bordered with a champleve geometric pattern in blues and white; the interior sports the original blue silk lining. The piece measures 3 1/8" (8 cm) by 2 7/16" (7.3 cm) and weighs a hefty 5.4 oz (153 grams). Marked for Ovchinnikov in full with the Imperial warrant, Moscow for pre-1896 manufacture, it is in excellent original condition. | ||
