This is a hand carved bone dip pen - probably a souvenier of the Grand Tour of Europe so popular with Americans in the late 1800's.

It is in very good condition, with a steel nib.

In excellent condition, with strong detail, this is not only a piece of history, but part of a religious practice centuries old i.e., that the sacred scrolls were never to be touched by the hand; only with a pointer.
