A charming souvenir ring produced by Gorham for the St. Louis Exposition of 1904. It has retained most of its detail, and commemorates the Louisiana Purchase of 1803. The front depicts the head of Thomas Jefferson, who was president at the time of the Purchase. Inside the ring band is the combined Gorham mark, patent date of 1903, the official souvenir stamp, and ‘sterling’; the entire combined mark is stamped and raised. The inside also indicates a ring size of 6 ˝, though it is a bit on the s ...click for details

This American sterling silver and enamel cross with a scrolled-edge is conservatively dated; it could be older. The chain is original and made of flattened, rectangular links; there is no clasp. It tests definitively for silver. The vibrant green enamel decoration on the cross is intact, and bears the usual minor flaws of handwork. The cross itself is quite sturdy, and nicely molded, though there are two casting flaws at the lower right (see photo #6). The ring at the top, as well as the bail ...click for details

This piece of early 20th-century costume jewelry is as graceful and delicate as the gold and platinum ones that inspired it. The circular and scrolled silver frame is embossed and set with rhinestones of various sizes, with two larger rhinestones in bezel-mounted drops. All the rhinestones are intact; the surface finish of the frame is oxidized for a darker look, probably to more dramatically set off the rhinestones. The pendant measures a little over 1 ˝ inches long from the top of the bale to ...click for details

This eight-sided silver bangle is of hollow construction and decorated with repoussé roses and sheaves of wheat. The design is enhanced with deep patination. It has a secure tongue-and-groove clasp, as well as original safety chain. The clasp release is a small knob decorated with a rosebud. There are two hallmarks on the tongue that are hard to make out, but they appear to be European. The bracelet measures 5/8 inch wide; when closed, the opening measures 2 1/4 inches, and the interior circumfe ...click for details
