This small but hefty solid bronze figurine is formed as a reposing cat with a ball between its front paws. It is unmarked, and shows a few casting imperfections, one most prominently on the face. It is conservatively dated. The figure measures 1 ¾ inches long by 5/8 inch wide by about 7/8 inch high.
These salad servers comprise a fork and spoon with rosewood handles and hand-wrought sterling silver tines and bowl. Each is decorated with three simple applied beads at the collar that wraps around the handles. The backs bear the mark of Taxco silversmith Bernice Goodspeed as well as sterling marks. Both are securely attached to the handles, although the spoon is a bit loose. The wood is in very nice shape, and the silver shows much oxidation but little wear. These whimsical dice come with a red flannel drawstring bag that bears the retailer’s name of Emi Fors and the address, Costera M. Aleman 1999, Acapulco. Each is marked with the circular mark for Taxco 925 with the initials MLM in the center; one has the Eagle 3 mark. The dice are hollow, but very sturdily made. Each measures 3/8 inch per side. These charming pottery plates are colorfully decorated with a poodle and Glidden’s signature speckled glaze around the edge. Each measures roughly 5 1/2 inches square.
This stunning vase of dark purple cut-to-clear glass is reminiscent of the fine work done by Bohemian or Belgian glassworks. It has a dramatic graduated shape and is molded with sharp, vertical panels with impressed elongated ovals. It stands 8 inches high with a rim diameter of 4 3/4 inches. Some wear to base; minor scratches to vase body.
