The inside of the band bears a mark for sterling and an unidentified maker’s mark of two mountain peaks with the initials MJ. Octagonal, with engraved decorative borders and floral motifs surrounded by bars of black enamel. There is some minor scratching to the surface, but no damage to the enamel. These sterling silver earrings have drops of pagoda-like forms that are most likely stylized interpretations of the multiple steps of Aztec temples. They are of hollow construction, but well made. The screw backs bear the circular mark of Hecho en Mexico 925 D.F., surrounding what look like the initials G.I. They measure 2 inches long by 1 ¼ inches at the widest area. Weight: 14.5 grams
