| This mid-century handcrafted piece features a highly polished piece of agate secured in an oval sterling silver frame. The pendant bears the mark of Frances Holmes Boothby on the back. The chain appears to be original to the piece and tests as silver, though it is not marked. The stone exhibits a ¼-inch fissure at the edge, apparently the result of an impact. The stone, however, is stable and secure in the bezel mount, and shows not signs of further stress. The back of the sterling frame shows a jagged line in the metal, but no damage; the line appears to be a discoloration, and not a crack. The pendant measures 1 5/8 inches long, including the bale, by 1 ¼ inches across; the chain measures 24 inches long, unclasped. | ||
