After a successful career as a graphic designer, art director and illustrator representing some of North Carolina's most prominent arts organizations, as well as a major publishing house, I decided to follow my passion for art and pursue a career as a broker of 20th century art, design and craft.
I have served as Co-Chair of the Board of Directors for the Black Mountain College Museum + Arts Center (www.blackmountaincollege.org) and I currently serve on their Advisory Board. The BMC+AC was featured in the Wall Street Journal as one of the top 10 small museums in the United States. My wife, Kelly, and I were guest curators for the first two exhibits in North Carolina with a focus on modernism: "Thinking Ahead: Progressive Design + Black Mountain College" for the BMCM+AC in 2006, and "Living By Design" in 2007 for the Asheville Art Museum (www.ashevilleart.org). Most recently, I curated the exhibit and authored the catalog for "Breaking New Ground: The Studio Potter + Black Mountain College". This show was the first to explore the importance of Black Mountain College as an major influence on 20th century studio ceramics.
My wife and I have been featured in Wallpaper* magazine's Top 100 and my museum projects have received attention in Dwell, Modernism, American Craft and a host of other local and regional publications.
