Circa 1870-1880s. France, Antique. Hallmarked with French charge and maker's marks. Silver over 18k. Ex-property of Fyodor Chaliapin, provenance provided. This fabulous Belle Epoch piece features 20+ctw diamonds and 10ctw sapphires set in silver over 18k. This necklace converts to a large brooch by removing the arms of the necklace. Excellent condition. Note: The pin stem and catch both are theaded and removable. Passed down to her oldest son from the Italian ballerina Iola Chaliapin nez Tornaghi, wife of famous Russian basso Fyodor Chaliapin. SIZE: Pin measures 3 1/4" across x 3 3/8" long. Each necklace link is 7 1/4" in length. WEIGHT: Brooch weighs 37.1gms. Necklace links weigh 13.5gms and 13.6gms respectively.
