Circa 1870s, French. Marked with eagles head for 18k and maker's mark. This charming example of a French lavaliere pendant from the Grand Victorian period features delicate workmanship and fine detail. This is a rare, intact surviving example. Set with pearls and diamonds, the swags and flowers of this piece, while typical of this period, are particularly insouciant. As is often the case, a Fleur-de-Lys is also subtly incorporated in the design. Excellent condition. SIZE: 1 3/4" length. WEIGHT: 2.2gm.
