Antique jewelry, Estate jewelry. Circa 1880-1900, gilt silver and gold, probably Austrian. These amazing Victorian earrings have remained in style and very fashionable for over 125 years. Their bold look has the unique verve that captures the imagination and turns heads. The dangling balls are set with fire red Bohemian garnets which smolder like embers when they catch the light. This is “cat-walk” vintage at its one-of-a-kind best. The fabrication of the balls is very unusual and advanced for pieces of this period. Very good condition, noted; these earrings have been converted to posts, and while the components are all of the same period, in our opinion, they were most likely combined or “re-made” probably in the 1920s. PRESENTATION: Your jewelry will arrive in a lovely presentation box. Where possible, an outer box will also be included. HALLMARKS: none noted. SIZE: Hang 2" from top of earring x 20mm diameter ball.
