A Superb Japanese Erotic Woodblock Print. Meiji Period.

10 x 7 1/4 ins. (25.4 x 8.4 cms). This superb print is one of a set of 12 images each of which represents a different month. This print is the design for October and shows a hiker in Western costume engaged with a passing peasant girl. This wonderful and very rare pottery model of a tortoise was made during the Song Dynasty (AD 960 -1279) or the Yuan Dynasty (AD 1279 - 1368). It is made from a black earthenware. Superb Pair of Japanese Kakiemon Porcelain Dishes. Edo Period. Ca. 1660/70.

Diameter 8 1/2 ins. (21.6 cms). Genuine Kakiemon porcelain is very rare and these are particularly fine and early examples. The very appealing design shows a central motif of pheasants on a rock surrounded by flowers and leaves and an outer design of unidentified birds interspersed with flowers, leaves and "karakusa" scrolling motifs. ...click for details

This fine impressive jar was made around the 10th - 13th century AD, during the Song Dynasty (AD 960 - 1279) or possibly as late as the Yuan Dynasty (AD 1279 - 1368), and comes from Yunnan province in the south-west of China, a relatively isolated part of China which borders Vietnam, Laos, Burma and Tibet.

Ht. 8 3/4 ins. (22.2 cms). This beautiful lacquered wood wine bottle dates from the second half of the 19th. century. It is in fine condition with the exception of a very small chip on the lip (see photos), and an even tinier chip on the knob of the stopper.
