A Fine Korean Bronze Lidded Vessel. Koryo Dynasty. 12th. Century.
Ht. 5 1/4 ins. 13.5 cms. This fine piece is spun rather than cast, a technique the Korean used on many bronze vessels in the Koryo Dynasty. This process enabled a much thinner section to be achieved but with the slight disadvantage that foot rims had to be attached separately, usually with rivets, as in this piece.
