A Good Japanese Woodblock Printed Triptych by Toyokuni 3rd. Dated 1864
Assembled size 29 1/2 x 13 7/8 ins. (73.8 x 35.7 cms) This striking design shows a terrifying group of heavily tattooed samurai and one woman wearing a coat with a tattoo motif. They are armed with a variety of weapons, including a rifle. This design is signed Toyokuni at the age of 78, the last year of his life.
