Chinese Han Dynasty Painted Pottery Horse Head (206 BC - AD 220)

This attractive pottery model of a horse's head was made during the Han Dynasty (206 BC - AD 220). It is made from a grey pottery that has been "cold painted" in a reddish-brown pigment. Such Han horse heads particularly impressive when displayed sitting a simple base or stand.

Height 16.5 cm (6.5 inches). Some surface wear and minor chips to the edges, as must be expected; good condition.

Please note that the black display base is not included.
