DPRK / North Korean Museum Book: Neolithic, Koryo etc.
** ONLY ONE LEFT **

DPRK / North Korean Museum Book Neolithic, Koryo Dynasty etc..

The great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung said: "Our nation, celebrated for its long history and brilliant culture, has contributed a great deal of scientific creations and inventions to the treasure house of human culture since the ancient times."

Part of the introduction to this fine book. This is the most recent publication of a fine selection of exhibits from the Korean Central History Museum that stands in Kim Il Sung Square in the centre of Pyongyang, the capital of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (i.e. North Korea). Some 250 exhibits are fully illustrated in colour.

The ceramics section is the largest with 85 items shown from Neolithic pottery up to 19th century porcelain, 33 of which are Koryo Dynasty celadons (we should point out that these are different celadons to those illustrated in the Koryo Museum book that we are also currently selling).

Also included are ancient bronzes, wood & stone sculptures (many of which are Buddhist) and a small section on paintings and calligraphy.

A finely-produced book printed on fine art paper, hardback covered in simulated leather. 2004 (Juche 93). Top quality colour illustrations throughout. English & Korean text. 200 printed pages. 30 x 21.5 cm.

We bought a few of these books in Pyongyang on our recent visit to the DPRK and carried them back as hand luggage. We could not buy many, as there were not many to buy and these books are very heavy to carry as hand luggage; a very rare opportunity, especially for our American customers who are not allowed to visit the DPRK, to acquire such a publication.

We show a selection of scans showing a small part of the contents of this fine book.

Please note that diagonal lines and picture distortion are caused by our scanner and are not present in the actual printing!
