The Percival David Foundation of Chinese Art houses what is widely regarded as the finest collection of Chinese ceramics outside China comprising ceramics reflecting Chinese court taste and dating mainly from the 10th - 18th century. Many of the exhibits bear important inscriptions and a number of them have previously been in the possession of Chinese emperors. With the aid of 134 colour illustrations of selected items from the collection in addition to a few black & white illustrations, this book details and examines the progression of various wares through this period. Much useful information and very well written making it a pleasure to read for both the amateur collector as well as the connoisseur.
