Large Chinese Han Dynasty Painted Hu Jar
This impressive pottery jar was made during the Han Dynasty (206 BC - AD 220). It is made from a fine-grained pottery that has been elaborately "cold painted" in unusually elaborate patterns using red, reddish-brown, white and blue pigments, blue being a particularly rare pigment. On the flat base is a purposely incised triangle pattern, presumably the mark of the potter. Height 34.5 cm (13.5 inches). There is a chip to the rim and some surface wear but no repair or restoration; a fine example of Han Dynasty painted pottery in fine condition. *** TO ORDER THIS ITEM PLEASE EMAIL US QUOTING OUR STOCK NUMBER (see above) - WE SHALL THEN EMAIL YOU BACK WITH POSTAGE COSTS AND PAYMENT INSTRUCTIONS *** *** FOR FULL DETAILS OF OUR GUARANTEE AND PAYMENT OPTIONS, PLEASE CLICK ON "Buying from us - All you need to know" ON OUR HOME PAGE *** |
