Large Chinese Han Dynasty Painted Pottery Hu Jar
This impressive pottery jar was made during the Han Dynasty (206 BC - AD 220). It is made from a fine-grained pottery that has been elaborately "cold painted" in unusually elaborate patterns using red, reddish-brown, white and blue pigments, blue being a particularly rare pigment. On the flat base is a purposely incised triangle pattern, presumably the mark of the potter. Height 34 cm (13.25 inches). There is minor damage to the top of rim and some surface wear but no repair or restoration; a fine example of Han Dynasty painted pottery in fine condition. *** TO ORDER THIS ITEM PLEASE EMAIL US QUOTING OUR STOCK NUMBER (see above) - WE SHALL THEN EMAIL YOU BACK WITH POSTAGE COSTS AND PAYMENT INSTRUCTIONS *** *** FOR FULL DETAILS OF OUR GUARANTEE AND PAYMENT OPTIONS, PLEASE CLICK ON "Buying from us - All you need to know" ON OUR HOME PAGE *** |
