Circa the very early 1900s, this bamboo tube lime container comes from the Mangyan people of Mindoro Island, Philippines. Incised on the bamboo tube container are diamond and triangular patterns arranged in four tiers. At the top and bottom are circular braided fine rattan, which serve as support and foot. A rare antique brass belt from the Bagobo people of southern Mindanao, Philippines circa the early 1900s. The belt is made of twelve 2x1.5 inch (about an eight of an inch thick) brass rectangular pieces plus two end buckles. Each rectangular piece is inlaid with alternating bronze and silver highly stylized human figure with splayed legs and upraised arms. Three antique gauzy abaca (banana plant fiber) blouses (called “baro”) from the Tagalog area in central Luzon, Philippines circa the early 1900s. This type of blouse was worn in other lowland Philippines as well. A prominent feature of each blouse is the butterfly-like sleeves, which are embroidered with floral motifs. Each blouse measures about 18 inches on the bodice, 13 inches from shoulder to hem, with each butterfly-like sleeve measuring about 12 x 13 inches. A Tibetan food container, circa the 19th century. The cylindrical food container is made of wood, with butterfly, dragonfly and floral designs on the lid cover and vine scrolls on the body. With a height of 6 inches including lid cover and diameter of 5.5 inches, the food container is in very good condition, with some light scratches on the brim. It still smells slightly of yak butter.

A Tibetan small leather carrying bag, circa the 18th century. Made of tough and thick (yak?)leather, the bag is used for carrying jewelry and other valuables. The bag, measuring 6.5 inches in length x 3.5 inches in width x 4.5 inches in height, is in very good condition over-all, although it has apparently lost some bottom metal clasps. The front metal hasp could be a later replacement. The bag still smells slightly of yak butter.
