Early LOS CASTILLO("#1" design) modernist mixed metal and obsidian bracelet, Mexico, c.1940. Beautifully constructed, there are two curved brass arms that connect to a circular piece of obsidian that turns freely. The brass arms are attached to the sterling locking ends. The obsidian stands 1 1/8" high and forms a very unusual and majestic modernist design. The bracelet measures 7 1/2" around. Wonderfully designed hand made necklace by MAYA, Mexico, c.1950's after a Hubert Harmon design. Maya frequently copied Harmon designs. Looks just like silver with a great patina, but probably made of silver plate because there are no Mexican silver marks. The locking mechanism is separated from the main part by black velvet ribbon. Very early 980 silver FISH clip by William Spratling, Mexico, c.1931. It is signed "WS TAXCO 980" and measures 1 3/4" square and is worn vertically with the fish head facing downwards.
