A real 18th century painting table from Northern China.The size is apx. 63x21x34 high.The base,which retains most of the original lacquer,is Yumu.The top appears to be fruitwood.I have restored the table.The apron trim has been replaced on both ends. Except for these replacements,the table is all original and very solid.Perfect cloud bands.Surface sculpting throughout.Double incense stick beading on legs.Please inquire for more information.

A purrfect example of a small square "regional" table.It comes from Shanxi Province in Northern China.The wood is Yumu/Northern Elm. The size is 16 1/2 x 16 1/2 x 21 high. The table is all original including the hardware.A true collectors piece.Further thoughts...I am sitting,polishing an early 19th century gate bench, which has a finish similar to this small table. An early 19th century,4 drawer,altar table. The size is 99 1/2x22x32 1/2x35 to top of flange. This is a perfect example of old style craftsmanship that was still being done in the first half of the 19th century. I am attempting to "save" what's left of the gold leaf. Since the apron was already loose, I was able to remove the apron and clean it separately.In this way, I could lay the apron down horizontally.
