A small painting or work table from Shanxi.The size is 63x25x34high.The table still retains most of the original lacquer.The wood is Yumu(northern elm wood).The spandrels are finely carved and display some pillowing.The front surface of the spandrel is not flat.It has been carved in a undulating manner.

This Kang Coffer is very rare.It is from Shanxi in northern China.Because of the size,it was probably used on a very large Kang platform.I have had many kang coffers over the years.Most of those have been half the size of this one or smaller.This coffer is 68x24x19high.The style of the carving is Sung.This type of carving is called Early Florid Style.Scrolling grasses and various floral motifs finish the detailing.Minor repairs to right front foot.There are also traces of a wonderful green color ...click for details

Early 18th century or older.This flush corner table,also has the original "giant arm braces"intact.One foot has been replaced.Old lacquer.This table has been re-lacquered many times but has always been black.The underside retains the old patina. It has never been scraped.A old ancient relic from another time.

These 18th century cabinets are all original.They are from northern China.The size is 40x21x75 high.It is possible,that these cabinets had upper "hat cabinets",at one time. The hardware is all original,except for one drop pull.The lacquer is also original.I have only cleaned the cabinets and then,"brought them up"with tung oil. This is one of the ways, that the Chinese did it.
