About The Maisor Collection

The Maisor Collection was started more than a decade ago and specializes in fine studio ceramics and unica works from Denmark, Sweden, France and Japan. For the Danish works in our collection we concentrate on the period between 1920 to 1960, although later and contemporary pieces also occur. The Swedish pieces in the collection date from between 1930 to 1980. The focus of the French part of our collection is the early 20th century, i.e. mainly the Art Nouveau period, 1900 to 1920, with some later pieces from the Art Deco period. The Japanese part of the collection is the latest addition, and covers mainly the Post-War period up to the present. Here we have concentrated on the Mingei movement broadly as well as pieces which reflect new styles and trends. All the pieces in the Maisor Collection have been carefully selected with special attention to their aesthetical, representational and historical values, and occassionally we include pieces that are strange, bizarre or otherwise out of the ordinary. As such our collection reflects our personal and subjective tastes and not that of mainstream interest.
