A beautiful silk-screen print by renowned print-maker Ay-o (b. 1931) depicting a chair in a room made with the powerful fluorescent colours that characterize the works of this artist, also called "The rainbow man".
Print title: “Mr. Kubo´s Chair” Signed in pencil: Ay-o and dated 1978. This is no. 117 of an edition of 300. H 33 cm, W 23 cm. CONDITION: Slightly soiled on the outer, left rim, otherwise very fine.

A rare and unusual, rectangular ceramic plate with a minimalistic, deeply incised semi-abstract landscape. Partly covered by olive, iron and blue-grey ash glaze. Signed on the back in both English transcription and Japanese and front w. his mark: Kenji Ushiku (b. 1922). Kenji is usually known as a print maker of etchings, but he also dabbled in other forms of artistic expression. A very elegant lamp foot of stoneware, in narrow conical form by artist Frode BAHNSEN.* Decorated in the typical manner of the PALSHUS Stone Ware factory with a smooth, finely mottled glaze in olive-brown. Signed: (artist’s monogram) for Palshus, Denmark. Serial number 1179/2. Made during the first half of the 1950s. H 42 cm (w. electric mount). Condition: Perfect.
BIOGRAPHY:
* Frode BAHNSEN (1923-1983) was a designer who worked for the Palshus Stone Ware factory from 1951 to the mid-1960s.
