Pair sold for $370 

An interesting blue and white transferware design plate attributed to Herculaneum Pottery, Lancashire (1793-1841). Although unmarked, this pattern has been attributed to Herculaneum by several authors. Overall good condition with minor knife scratches, faint "X" shaped hairline crack on the back that does not appear to go through to the other side, and a very minor back edge chip. Ochre edge. 9.5" diameter, c. 1800.

A lovely, large transferware platter from the "Holy Bible" series by Job and John Jackson, Staffordshire Potteries 1831-1835. Sidon was the capital of Phoenicia in biblical times. It was a major Mediterranean port and a very prosperous city. The platter has a lovely scalloped edge and floral border. "Holy Bible" mark with title, "Sidon", and "Jacksons Warrented" on reverse. Overall very good condition, with minor abrasions on edge and minor knife scratches ...click for details

A very nice blue and white transferware platter in the "Wild Rose" pattern made by the short lived pottery of Read, Clementson, and Anderson, Staffordshire in 1836. This pattern gets its name from the border of wild roses. A very popular pattern in the 19th century made at several different potteries. Overall good condition with minor knife scratches and slight staining. Staining shows more in picture of the front than in real life. 15.75" by 12.5" c. 1836.

Pair of child's blue and white Transferware "Curling Palm" pattern plates, unmarked. This pattern was produced by Job Ridgway, Staffordshire 1802-1808. Pattern is named for the prominent palm tree above the Pagoda in this nice chinoisiere scene. Overall crazing, and minor edge flaking of glaze, otherwise very good condition. 4.625" diameter, circa 1805.
