Rare archaic bronze cup with ring handles circa Warring States Period (475 BCE-221 BCE). Noted in last enlargement: 7cm x 3cm section that had broken out and was glued back in using the original piece as well as one crack that has been “pasted over” Underneath all the patina and grit, the bronze is solid and stable- a patient person could clean this up by hand- anyway very good value for a bronze of this size and period! L: 15.2cm/6im, W: 12.5cm/5in and H: 7.5cm3in.

Fine and quirky bronze image of seated monk, devotee, saint, acolyte or generic holy man with his hands held in the namaskara mudra. Elegant and simple this is a mysterious piece that can only be identified if seen in context with the other figures of an ensemble, (which I don’t have), this might well be a Jain saint. Anyway there is a small hole at base and dates to pre 18th CE. H: 5cm/2in and W: 4.1cm and 1.6in.

Rare crisply cast bronze bell with reticulated and knobbed pattern from the Warring States to Han period. Originally this piece would have had a wooden handle. There are some old and worn chips on one side of the mouth which are due oxidation, having said this it the rest of the piece is stable and still has some tone when struck. Maximum H: 8.2cm/3.2in and base W: 6.5cm/2.5in. This would make an excellent study piece or collectable (given the high prices for any ancient Chinese bron ...click for details

Rare small bronze cast bell from the Warring States Period, 770BCE -221BCE, (possibly Yan State). Excellent condition with dotted reticulated pattern, still has a bit of clink and clank to it when tapped. Small hole at the top, presumably intentional, to hang a clapper from. Included is museum quality perspex stand. Base W: 5.8cm/2.2in and center H: 5cm/2in

Fine and rare bronze water pot from Pursat Province, Cambodia 12th-13th CE Khmer Period. This item was used during religious ceremonies for pouring water on religious Khmer icons and devotees in purification and blessing rituals. The truncated shape on this one is very unusual, only one of two I have ever seen. The edge of the mouthrim is a bit rough but otherwise no damage or repairs. H: 8cm/3.2in and D: 11.4cm/4.1in.

Very rare bronze image of a Chinese fairy holding a lotus leaf on his head. Lovely typically Ming round face with fine black patina. The two back supporting legs of the base look to be intentionally cut off some time ago as the cut edge is worn and well patinaed. Included is a museum quality custom made perspex base. Actual height without base is 16cm/6.2.
