A set of 5 Burmese bronaze cast "Elephant Weights," almost impossible to find the real thing these days. Beautifully rendered and originally used as weights for a scale to weight opium and other items in days long past! Wonderful patina! Circa: 19th C. Height of largest elephant is 1.5" (3.7 cm) and height of smallest is 15/16th of an inch (2.3 cm)

A complete SET of 6 Bronze cast Burmese "Chicken Weights," that were used to weight among other things, opium in the days long past! Beautifullly rendered with a wonderful patina, these weights are almost impossible to find these days. Circa 19th C. Height of largest weight is 2 1/2" (6.3 cm) and the height of smallest is 3/8" (1.8 cm)

An original watercolor by a famous Burmese artist, Tin Aung Htaik, of a Buddhist Temple in PAGAN BURMA (850-1200 AD) The temple (which has some of the oldest paintings in Pagan) is located in the old walled cityand it's names "Pa-hto-tha-mya," which is "...this Mother of Theravada Temples, so full of beauty without and scholarship within," said G.H. Luce. Looking west towards the main entrance which was facing East. Medium size, 15 x 11 inches. Good condition.

A BURMESE ORIGINAL WATERCOLOR of "Tharba Gate," (looking west towards the Irrawaddy River, built in 1101 for the old walled city of Pagan, Burma. The walls were estimated to have been built around 850 AD. There are "native spirits," one male on the right and one female on the left where people leave small offerings of flowers and fruit. Painted by a neknown Burmese artist, Tin Aung Htaik who lives in Rangoon. SIze is 18.5 x 13.75 inches.

Original watercolor by a famous Burmese artist, Tin Aung Htaik, of the "Lei-Gwyayign Myo Monastery," which is located across the Ayayerwady River from Pagan, Burma. Pagan was as ancient capital(850-1300 AD) that was built by volunteer's contributions seeking "merit." This monastery is particularly intersting due to it's many gabled roofs, and it is constructed entirely of wood. Condition is good. Dimensions are 15" x 11."

Condition is worn, there are spots were the orange-red lacquer has been rubbed off with constant handling, and the black lacquer underneath is exposed. Some black lacquer is exposed where the orange-red has rubbed off with age and constant handling. The design on the top of the lid has also been eroded. Original watercolor of "Mingun Pagoda," which is proported to be the largest pile of bricks in the world, almost 150 meters tall! Abandonded when King Bodawpaya died in 1819 and devasted by an earthquake in 1838. Located on the west bank of the Ayeyarwady River, north of Mandalay, Burma. Dimensions of painting are 14.25" x 9.5" Condition is good. The artist is Tin Aung Htaik.

Original watercolor of medium size (15" x 11") of the "Burmese Lion Entrance" to the "Kyauk Taw Gyi Pagoda," which in on the far side of the Ubang Bridge in Mandalay, Burma. Construction was started in 1853 and completed in 1878. Artist is Tin Aung Htaik, a famous Burmese artist. More information about him is avaiable upon request. Condition is good.

BURMESE Standing wooden lacquered MONK holding his begging bowl, is 30 inches in height, with a 7" diameter base. Circa 1960's. Condition is good, but there is a crack in the wooden base (see enlargement # 5) There are no cracks in the second piece that is similiar to this statue.
