A fine red lacquer snuff bottle of compressed ovoid form carved on one face with two scholars drinking tea at a table amidst a garden setting, the reverse with two scholars seated in a landscape scene, both images set against a geometric background surrounded by a border of lotus scroll at the sides, the base dated "Qian Long Bing Zi." 2.5 inches tall. Dated 1786, but mark possible added later. 1760-1850.
