French School, c. 1820. Watercolour on ivory portrait of a young woman with dark hair and eyes, wearting a ruset coloured gown with white lace collar and matching cap. She wears coral drop-earrings, double bracelet, and necklace, as well as a long chain with watch, (the face of the watch tells the time to be 1:30). Her right hand, with two rings, holds a book. Johann Daniel Beyer (French, active 1820-1840). Watercolour portrait of Anna Geither wearing a blue dress with imbecile sleeves, white lace collar tied with a black bow, sash with a gold buckle, and a gold cross on a black ribbon. Signed and dated to the obverse, ”1837 Beyer”. Gilt-metal mount. The reverse also inscribed with the sitter’s name. Oval, 70 mm high (2 ¾ inches). Good condition.

French School, late 18th Century (c. 1790), water color on ivory portrait miniature of Caroline d'Abbaye. The oval miniature, contained within a gilt-metal pendant frame, encloses a head-and-shoulders portrait of a handsome young woman with powdered hair and large brown eyes, facing slightly to the left, against a dark background.
