This is a very appealing Prayer Chair made from a nicely patinaed walnut by the end of the reign of Napoleon III during the second half of the 19th century. This handsome antique boasts a splendid serpentine-shaped frame, adorned with floral and acanthus patterns, and centering a cross mounted on an intricately sculpted pierced-carved interlaced design. This is a very attractive Prayer Chair handcrafted from solid mahogany boasting an exquisite patina consisting of an upper section providing a storage compartment for the Bible embellished with finials and supported by 6 lovely barley twisted columns standing on the base. Note a few minor scratches on the base due to the age. Please note that cushion introduced in the last picture is not included. Circa date 1880. This is a splendid gilded Holy Basin made by the end of the reign of Napoleon III by the 1870’s consisting of an intricately carved Cross embellished by scrolled foliate masterfully hand carved from ivory surrounded by a heavily accented frame ornate with acanthus and foliate patterns with the classical shell below. This is a very cute Praying Chair made from solid beech wood by the end of the reign of Napoleon III. This adorable piece is representing the Easter Cross as its was depicted in Europe with the black Cross mounted with drape and the tools used to torture and kill Christ.
