This miniature vase was made by Daum in the Nancy region of France, circa 1900. The glass composing the vase is a striking mix of red and yellow. Although unadorned in this instance, this is the same glass used as a basis for backgrounds on more advanced cameo glass pieces. The ovoid body is signed in cameo on the side with the DAUM NANCY signature and the CROSS OF LORAINE. This is a very fine example of turn of the century French Cameo Glass by Daum, circa 1900. Executed in a base color of golden yellow, this vase has a wonderful light iridescence covering the surface. The background has a chipped ice pattern surrounding the floral decoration. It also bears a saying in French that reads “A tout Seigneur tout honneur”.
