This monumental Pink Opalescent vase was produced in Pantin France, circa 1895 - 1910 by the firm of Stumpf, Touvier, Viollet & Cie. It has a terrific form with a flared four-lobbed base gracefully moving upwards into a tall elegant neck. The entire piece is hand decorated in heavy gold gilding depicting a flower and leaf motif with borders on the foot and rim. The French firm of Mont Joye, circa 1900, produced this monumental cameo glass vase. The crystal base has a "chipped ice" surface decoration as well as mutli-colored enameling and gilding. The hand painted enamel design of Sunflowers surrounded by an ornate border enhances this Art Nouveau period piece. The undulating curves with an overall chipped ice pattern is highlighted by gold gilding and enamel poppies. Signed with the gold Mont Joye mark the vase is stands 5 1/2 inches tall by 3 1/2 inches in diameter.
