For your consideration is this lovely, profusely painted ancient South Italic, Apulian amphora. Decorated in the Red-Figure technique with Lady of Fashion on obverse, and winged Eros with scepter and platter on the reverse. Olive wreath decorates the rim in white pigment on black field around the rim. This is a very large example, measuring 36" tall. Condition: A few, very small chips to the rim and base, but nothing that really detracts from the imposing presence and beauty this piece deports. Provenance: provided to purchaser.

This is a fine, intact Greek bronze ring.
The insignia is engraved with a horned beast, perhaps a bull, which could point to this ring being Mithraic.
The ring is intact with an excellent, even, brown-green patina classic of Greek bronze objects. Very desirable and wearable example.
Condition: Intact and wearable. A single crack to the band, but the piece is still not overly mineralized, so the metal is strong and renders the piece quite wearable.
Dates to approximately 450 BC.
Ring measures 17.73 mm inside diameter. This translates to a UK size O 1/2, European size 56, US size 8.
Provenance provided to purchaser.

This is an intriguing item. It's a block of limestone dug in Egypt in the 1960's by a husband/wife archaeological team. The piece weighs approximately 8 lbs. Inscribed on one side with what appears to be two lines of ancient Greek text. If anyone can tell me what this says, please don't hesitate to contact me with any information. Measures 7.5" X 5.5". The limestone is soft, Tura limestone usually used by the ancients to carve finely detailed sculpture and wall friezes because of its consistency and soft texture. Provenance provided to purchaser.
