This is an extremely rare and very important Frog Drum. It is the drum from Ly dynasty, NOT Dong Son Drum.
The important of this drum is that the motif on this drum is the same motif which using in Ly Dynasty, especially on the Terracotta ware, ( Please see photo 12 , the similar dragon motif on Terracotta ware which is the same as those on this drum ). The Ly Dragon is clearly shown on this drum with all the curve of the dragon is also identicle to those dragon of Ly period.
Please note that the curve on these dragon has more than 9 curves all together, which also shown that it was the imperial dragon ! ( Dragon with curve more that 9 curves is the imperial dragon )
The face of this drum was designed with full motif to cover the whole drum's face. However, due to the unclear motif, we can not see all the motif in sharpness.
Time : Ly Dynasty, 11th. 13th. C.
Condition : Perfect, no restoration, no broken All in original condition.
Size : 57.0 Cm. X 37.0 Cm.
Patina : In beautiful green patina.

NEW INFORMATION ADDED :-
A new information is given by an expert on Chinese artifact that this Ewer might be older than the Ly dynasty and probably belong to the Chinese TANG dynasty , 9th. C. - 10th. C.
However, since this Ewer was found in Vietnam and looked more likely of Ly artifact, 11th. C., we will still keep this EWER as Ly ceramics item.
If it is Tang, then it will have more value. Please consider by your expert-eye again. THANKS.

This is an extra-ordinary piece of Vietnamese, Ly dynasty ceramic of the 11th- 13th century.
The special of this item is that both the dish and Bowl was stuck together at the time of Firing.
Normally, the Ly style ceramic will have a 5 spur marks on the bottom of the dish. This is because when firing the dish and bowl, they would place a spur ring between each dish to prevent from sticking together. And after firing, they will remove the spur and left the 5 marks on the bottom of the dish or bowl.
For our offer item here, the worker might forget to place the spur ring in between the dish and bowl. That is why they stuck together, and the wonderful about this item is that it also last for almost a 1000 year in the original form without breaking !.
Condition : Only some small chip at the mouth rim of the bowl.( Please see photo for more details ). The rest is in very good condition. The glaze is lustrous.
Size : Bowl 10.0 Cm. Dia..& Dish : 17.0 Cm. Dia.
Please add US$ 30 .00 for UPS shipping.
