This is a most unique lamp, a true gem in the rough. This is a rare and fine an old brass AMERICAN WHALE OIL LAMP that dates to 18th century. There are a three attached wick trimming items, attached by square link chains... scissors, and such for wick trimming.
The lamp comes with an old paper shade, as shown. The lamp was converted to electricity, and takes two bulbs. The lamp is in working order and will be an incredible treasure with a bit of reworking of the electrical components.
Dimensions: 20"(51cm) height
Condition: Excellent, through wiring is hand done and rough. A link needs to be opened to attach one chain.

AUGUSTE MOREAU (1834-1917) Original charming and fine signed French sculptural bronze of CUPID OR EROS,the God of Love shown as an early adolescent complete with wings and much charm. Cupid or Eros carries his bow over his left shoulder in this stunning 15 1/2"(39.50cm) masterpiece. Bronze is mid 19th century, and GUARANTEED TO BE ORIGINAL. The sculptural works of Moreau have been copied and sold as a reproductions for far more than the offering price.
The bronze is winsome and totally charming. Perfect for your desk, Boudoir or Powder Room.
NOTE: To the best of my knowledge this bronze is not being offered as a recast on todays market.

This is a most interesting and unique door knocker. The bold transitional ART NOUVEAU motif is of a nude woman and curving lions, all enhanced by classical Art Deco elements. This is a transitional piece dating to just after the turn of the century.
The door knocker is fine bronze, very heavy and well cast. The details are wonderful. Don't be surprised if your guests don't come in. They may be on the porch gazing at this amazing work of art.

The craftsmanship and unique sculptural details on this 19th or late 18th century bronze door knocker, make a magnificent statement. Most likely foundried in Italy, King Neptune is resplendent with his buff torso, but so modest with his fig leaf.
