A mid 18th century English Georgian dram glass dating to C1750. A heavy three piece glass with a thick walled deceptive round funnel bowl over a plain stem and a thick firing type foot with rough pontil. Lead glass and in good original condition with wear appropriate to age and use. Height: 3 ¾” Rim: 1 7/8” Foot: 2 3/8” Of note is the tooled measure mark to the inner bowl of this glass just below the rim; which together with the solid construction confirms its tavern use.

An English Georgian goblet dating to C1770. A capacious ovoid bowl period engraved with: hops and barley and associated foliage, ‘M’ over ‘R * I’ or ‘R * E’ and a Ho Ho bird. A drawn plain stem and then a broad conical foot with rough pontil. Lead glass and perfect. Height: 6 ¼” Rim: 3 ¼” Foot: 3 ¾” The hops and barley motif naturally indicate that this glass was used for drinking ale; and in that regard it is unusual in this form. An English Georgian short cordial glass* dating to C1750. A diminutive ovoid bowl mounted on a plain stem; leading to a conical foot with rough pontil. Lead glass and in good original condition; a small inclusion in the bowl. Height: 5 3/8” Rim: 1 3/4” Foot: 2 1/2” * See Barrington Haynes p. 197 for nomenclature. Short cordial glasses are uncommon and this is a nice example.

A mid 18th century English Georgian ale glass dating to C1760. The funnel bowl nicely engraved with a hop bud and associated foliage and to the reverse two barley ears in saltire. A tall plain stem leads to a conical folded foot with rough pontil. Lead glass and in good condition. A fine Dutch toasting glass dating to early in the 18th century; C1720-40 and constructed very delicately from soda glass. A fine stem; drawn from the trumpet bowl and mounted on a conical foot with rough pontil. The bowl is relatively large and shows evidence of shearing; with a high start and finish point, as does the foot. A tall and wide bell bowl with ‘teared’ solid base; over a stout and shorter than usual plain stem and wide conical folded foot with rough pontil. Lead glass of a nice dark steely blue tone and in great condition with the odd small inclusion and bubble; great tooling marks and striation. Height: 6 3/16” Rim: 2 ¾” Foot: 3 3/8” A particularly nicely proportioned stocky glass with a strong presence.
