This is a beautiful and colourful specimen of ancient Egyptian Amarna period faience. This piece dates to the Amarna Period in Egyptian history. The religious revolution brought about by Amenhotep IV, Akhenaten, ushered in a wonderful change in jewelry design and manufacture. This ring is a choice example of such. This ring has a wedjat for a bezel, and has an inside diameter of 17.7 mm. It is wearable, but if you do, then take heed that it is a delicate ceramic, and can be broken.
Condition: Repaired from five fragments - all from this one, original ring. This is NOT a Frankenstein restoration with parts from different objects used to create one complete object. This piece has been professionally restored from the original fragments of one ring. Wonderful colour.
Provenance provided to purchaser.

This is a nice study group. For your consideration - a large Roman pottery transport amphora handle and amphora toe. These fragments date from between 200 BC and 200 AD. The handle fragment measures 134 mm (5.2") tall and 118 mm (4.6") wide. The amphora toe measures 53.8 mm (2.11") tall and 52 mm (2") tall. These fragments are not confirmed to be from the same amphora, and it's unlikely, as the handle has many calcretions and other sea growths (ie. coral) present. The toe has calcretions, but no evidence of being submerged in the sea. Provenance provided to purchaser.

This is a fine little flask (referred to as an Aryballos) used in ancient times to hold and dispense expensive oils or perfume. The narrow neck and delicate cup spout evidence the restricting application of the oil to and from this vase. Perfumes and oils were very expensive in ancient times, and narrow-necked vases such as these were used to dispense and store the precious liquids with the utmost of care.
Measuring 9 cm tall.
Condition: Repaired professionally at the neck and across the handle from a single break. Good adhesions and evidence of age.
Dates to the time of King Herod the Great and Jesus, circa 100 BC - 100 AD.
Provenance provided to purchaser.
