We offer this wonderful Contemporary "ROOKWOOD POTTERY" Advertising Sign! This item is not a reproduction, the current owners of the Rookwood Pottery Company purchased the Rites to the Molds and Designs from the last owner of the Original Rookwood Pottery Company's family members. The Advertising Sign is covered in a Rich Blue Gloss Porcelain Glaze. It displays the Rookwood Company Logo in a scroll. The item is in relief both front and back. The base is marked with the Rookwood 14 Flame RP Logo and shape number 2788. The item is clearly incised by hand with the production number of 95/500. It is also inscribed with the year 1999 and also again the shape number 2788. The sign measures 14 1/2" X 4 1/4" X 3 1/4". A very *RARE* Original J.B. OWENS Art Pottery Pedestal Base for a jard. We are offering ONLY the Pedestal for sale. This item is decorated in a Matte Glaze that J.B Owens used to compete with the early decorated Matte Lines at Rookwood, Weller and Roseville potteries. The background is a very Deep Brown/Grey coloration and the Slip Hand Painted Tulips are on the front side only of the Pedestal. There are raised figures of Dolphins which appear around the base of the Pedestal. This item stands 16" tall and measures 9 1/2" across the base, 6 1/4" across the top and the inside top ring where the Jard will sit measures 5" across. There are some very minor scuffs and a small flat glaze flake to the painted surface at the bottom edge which really is of no harm for this item and its overall size and common base flakes that are usually encountered on Pedestals are present. There is some light white residue that I have not attempted to clean off and I will leave this for the next owner to decide if they wish to. Overall Very good condition and no Cracks or Repairs. This item is as common for this line and shape is Unsigned but we guarantee it to be original and correct. Shipping will be determined at the time of purchase.

Absolutely Beautiful and *SCARCE* ROOKWOOD Yellow Jewel Porcelain Bowl by Lorinda Epply. This item is covered in the very sought after and scarce Yellow Jewel Porcelain Glaze. It is decorated with Warm Florettes that circle the Flared Rim and a large Central Florette. The reverse side of the bowl is decorated in dripping Blue, Brown and Black creating a stunning effect. This item is marked on the base with the Rookwood Reverse RP and 14 Flame Logo. XXIV for the year 1924. Shape #2757 with a right dot. The Artist initials LE for Lorinda Epply, one of Rookwoods most sought after artists. The bowl is also marked on the base with a wheel cut into the glaze Double X mark denoting this item as a double second. The reason for this is a firing split which occured in the final firing of this item. It appears that one of the stilts slipped slightly, creating pressure and a subsequent crack/split that is more noticeable on the base than the interior of the bowl but it is there. The item was obviously considered Beautiful and Artistic enough to not destroy and was most likely given to either the Artist or Worker at the Rookwood Showroom. It is truly a stunning example of a very Scarce Glaze with No Apparent Crazing! Other than the Firing flaw there are no Chips or repairs. This item measures 7 1/4" across and stands 2 1/2" high. Shipping is $12.00 plus Optional Insurance Fee in the Continental U.S.

Exceptional Rookwood Iris Glaze LARGE MUG decorated with Purple Hanging Head Oriental Poppies! The background color is that of Sea Foam Green, and one would think this item was actually Sea Green if it were not marked with the W for White or Iris Glaze on the base. The mug stands 5 3/4" tall and measures 5 1/2" across at the widest point. The mug has very fine light overall crazing which seems to have become magnified in our images due to the flash of the camera. It truly is light and even. The base has the Rookwood Reverse RP and 14 Flame Logo, V for the year 1905, W for White or Iris Glaze, and Artist Initials which appear to be those by Marianna Mitchell. There are the Shape #s 587B which denotes it LARGE size. There is a Wheel Ground very small X due to a small Sliver like glaze skip on the top rim. It looks as though it may have just touched something in the kiln and the glaze pulled a tiny sliver off when it was removed. This item has not other condition issues, chips, cracks or repairs to note. Shipping is $12.00 plus Optional Insurance Fee in the Continental U.S.

Rookwood Very Rare and Very Early Cobalt Blue Decorated Jewel Porcelain Footed Bowl. This item has a band of Arts and Crafts inspired Florals and Geometrics in Black under a Rich and very Early Cobalt Blue Jewel Porcelain Glaze. This item is marked on the base with the impressed Rookwood Reverse RP and 14 Flame Logo, XVI for 1916(first year of trial for this glaze type), shape #2256C and a sideways P for Porcelain body, Porcelain Glaze. This item has a very textured thick glaze on the base which has obscured the artist initials. The Glaze has a large number of glaze bubble pops, which expose the dark brown clay color beneath. These pops are all pretty small, but there are a large # of them, but again, they do not detract from the wonderful beauty of this item. This particular bowl is most likely a trial item, as it was NOT marked with an X on the base, when many items with almost invisible flaws were so marked. This truly is a very RARE and UNIQUE chance to own one of the FIRST decorated Cobalt Jewel Porcelain Rookwood Items. We would like to mention that this item does have several bottom rim grinding flakes/chips to the glaze which are absolutely in the makeing. The interior of this item is of a lighter shade than the exterior, and it too has a wonderful underglaze texture. This item measures 8 inches across and 3 1/8 inches high. The Blue is actually darker than our images show due to the flash. Other than the bottom grinding flakes/chips (original) there are no Cracks or Repairs or Crazing to this item. Shipping is $12.00 plus Optional Insurance Fee in the Continental U.S.

We offer an Extremely RARE and Important ROOKWOOD Venetian Scenic Vellum vase decorated by Rookwoods MOST SOUGHT AFTER ARTIST, *CARL SCHMIDT*!. This Magnificent vase stands 10 1/4" tall and measures 3 3/4" across at the widest point. The vase shows a Gondola and Gondolier in the Foreground with boats and the shore of Venice in the background. Done in primarily a mono tone Blue/Grey decoration with the most fabulous subtle pink reflection from the Morning Sky and Clouds above. The vase is marked on the base with the Rookwood Reverse RP and 14 Flame Logo, XII for 1912, shape # 482, an impressed V for Vellum Glaze, a Hand Incised V denoting the artist instruction for Vellum Glaze and the Artist Monogram of SC within a Circle for Carl Schmidt. Carl Schmidts' works have repeatedly broken most records for Rookwood over the past 10 years and his Vellum Glaze Decorated items are the most sought after and desirable. The Condition of the vase is as follows; The vase is covered in Common overall moderate crazing with some darkened craze lines (1 shown in an image of 2" but absolutely a craze line and not a hairline). The vase had a glued in place rim chip and a neck glaze hairline MAGNIFICENTLY & Professionally repaired by Master Restorer, Ms. Edith Schroeder of San Francisco. The repair/s are absolutely INVISIBLE and UNDETECTABLE with BLACK LIGHT! The smallish repaired area also had crazing added to the section to further blend and make it absolutely invisible to the naked eye or normal magnification technique. The vase has normal light peppering, mostly white and not blackened, pin hole marks in the darker decorated areas. This is common for early vellum items and can be clearly seen in our images. This item is truly an IMPORTANT ROOKWOOD CARL SCHMIDT. VENETIAN SCENIC VELLUM VASE! Other than the noted condition issues, this item is NOT X'ed or a second or other damage of any kind. Shipping is $13.00 in the Continental U.S. Insurance at and additional fee.

Absolutely Beautiful Rookwood Jewel Porcelain vase painted by Lenore Asbury. Ms. Asbury is one of Rookwoods most sought after artists and one can see why in this cabinet sized Gem. Rookwood Porcelains Cabinet size vases are scarce and this vase has Delicate Red Roses among sprays of Green Leaves. The Blue at the rim gently drips down to the Ivory Ground of this vase as intended by the artist. There is only ONE craze line near the top half, it is not a hairline, but a lone craze line as this glaze is often found with all over crazing, this is a desirable condition!. There is a small bruise at the base with an edge glaze flake. This is small and can be easily restored should the new owner wish to. We feel that it does not detract as it is very hard to see and not as crisp as our image shows in the increased size of the vase images we provide. The vase stands 5 1/2" tall and measures just 2 1/2" across at the widest point. The base is impressed with the Rookwood Reverse RP and 14 Flame Logo, XXVIII for the year 1928, Shape #2954 and a Black Underglaze Painted L.A. for the artist Lenore Asbury. Other than the noted condition, this item has No chips, cracks and NO repairs. Ground Insured UPS Shipping is $10.00 in the Continental U.S.

Very Rare Artist Signed and Decorated ROOKWOOD COBALT BLUE JEWEL PORCELAIN VASE! Colored Jewel Porcelain Glaze Rookwood items are becoming one of the Hottest trends in collecting Rookwood. Known for being scarce and beautiful, they often have condition problems which shortened their productions runs making them very hard to find indeed. The vase we offer is Much Darker than our images show, this is caused by our flash. The item is harder in person to see the decoration, but one can clearly see the stunning beauty that Fred Rothensbush created in this work of Art. The vase stands 8 1/2" tall and measures 5 1/2" across the top. The myriad of bubbles trapped within the glaze itself is one of the stunning effects that Jewel Porcelain Glazes are known for and this item is no exception. The lovely Orchids grace the vase 360 degrees and from almost top to bottom with a band at the top and another inside the top rim. The depth of color of the vase is closer to that shown in the image of the interior of the vase. The base is impressed with the Rookwood Reverse RP and 14 Flame Logo, XXIV for the year 1924, shape #2734, incised FR for Frederick Rothensbush, and a V denoting that he originally intended the vase to be of Vellum Glaze. The Glazing department decided to ignore the artists request and instead glazed it in Cobalt Blue Jewel Porcelain Glaze. There is a wheel ground X which accounts for a few very very tiny pin holes in the glaze which do not detract from the vase in any way. This item is ABSOLUTELY UNCRAZED, which for this particular glaze is VERY RARE!!! No chips, cracks or repairs. Ground Insured UPS Shipping is $12.00 in the Continental U.S.
