This is a very nice ceramic TRICK CUP ( Scholar Cup ) with figure at the center of the cup.
The reason why we call this cup as a Trick Cup is because; there is a hole under the figure of the child in the center of the cup, when we pour water in the cup, the water will not leak out if the water under the child's chine. as soon as the water level goes above the chine, then the water will start to leak out . So, this is looked like a magic cup or a TRICK CUP.
Now, the reason why we also call it, a SCHOLAR CUP is because of the concept of Philosophy point of view about the water level. It means don't be greedy, if too much greedy, then all the fortune will disappear, same as water above chine and nose, then no air to breathe, then that person must die.
Period : Song dynasty, 11th-12th century
Condition : one small chip on the mouth rim and some glaze peeled. Please see picture for details.
SIZE : 9.0 Cm. X 4.5 Cm.
Please add US$ 50.00 for UPS shipping cost.

This is a very nice , very good condition of a polychrome charger from the Hoi An Hoards. Actually, this piece had 3 colors, Red, Green and Blue, but the color pigment of Red and Green has been faded out,due to long time in the sea. The only color left is the Cobalt Blue and it is very lucky that the main color of this charger is the Cobalt Blue , so it looks like this is a B&W charger !
Design : The motif of our offer here is : Pheonix among Clouds
Period : 15th century, late tran dynasty, Early Le dynasty.
Condition :No Chip, No Crack. Lustrous glaze.
Encrustation :Some. Please refer to photo.
