$300.00

A very *RARE* Original J.B. OWENS Art Pottery Pedestal Base for a jard. We are offering ONLY the Pedestal for sale. This item is decorated in a Matte Glaze that J.B Owens used to compete with the early decorated Matte Lines at Rookwood, Weller and Roseville potteries. The background is a very Deep Brown/Grey coloration and the Slip Hand Painted Tulips are on the front side only of the Pedestal. There are raised figures of Dolphins which appear around the base of the Pedestal. This item stands 16" tall and measures 9 1/2" across the base, 6 1/4" across the top and the inside top ring where the Jard will sit measures 5" across. There are some very minor scuffs and a small flat glaze flake to the painted surface at the bottom edge which really is of no harm for this item and its overall size and common base flakes that are usually encountered on Pedestals are present. There is some light white residue that I have not attempted to clean off and I will leave this for the next owner to decide if they wish to. Overall Very good condition and no Cracks or Repairs. This item is as common for this line and shape is Unsigned but we guarantee it to be original and correct. Shipping will be determined at the time of purchase.

$80.00

Very Unusual Shaped American Art Pottery Standard Glaze Vase! This item stands 12 3/4" tall and measures 6" across at the widest point. The vase is decorated in boldly and broadly painted Flowers on a Green/Brown ground. The top has a very unusual, tight opening, leading us to believe that it was intended to be used with flowers like the Peony, long stemmed and large headed. The base shows the Standard Glaze over Slip Decorated Yellow Clay body. There is a very small Glaze Only flake that is filled in and matches the rest of the dark ground on the very top of the vase you can see this in the close up view of the top of the item. There are also 3 small what we believe to be fingerprints underglaze, which have dark glaze filling them (from the factory) and not an after repair. Other than the noted glaze flake and factory imperfections, No cracks or repairs Shipping is $10.00 in the Continental U.S. Insurance Available for an Additional Fee.

$290.00

Absolutely Beautiful and *SCARCE* ROOKWOOD Yellow Jewel Porcelain Bowl by Lorinda Epply. This item is covered in the very sought after and scarce Yellow Jewel Porcelain Glaze. It is decorated with Warm Florettes that circle the Flared Rim and a large Central Florette. The reverse side of the bowl is decorated in dripping Blue, Brown and Black creating a stunning effect. This item is marked on the base with the Rookwood Reverse RP and 14 Flame Logo. XXIV for the year 1924. Shape #2757 with a right dot. The Artist initials LE for Lorinda Epply, one of Rookwoods most sought after artists. The bowl is also marked on the base with a wheel cut into the glaze Double X mark denoting this item as a double second. The reason for this is a firing split which occured in the final firing of this item. It appears that one of the stilts slipped slightly, creating pressure and a subsequent crack/split that is more noticeable on the base than the interior of the bowl but it is there. The item was obviously considered Beautiful and Artistic enough to not destroy and was most likely given to either the Artist or Worker at the Rookwood Showroom. It is truly a stunning example of a very Scarce Glaze with No Apparent Crazing! Other than the Firing flaw there are no Chips or repairs. This item measures 7 1/4" across and stands 2 1/2" high. Shipping is $12.00 plus Optional Insurance Fee in the Continental U.S.

$325.00

Offered is one of the RAREST LINES ever produced by the Weller Pottery Company. This item is from Weller's "AURORO" Line. The decoration shows TWO large fish on one side and another Large Fish on the opposite side. The Massive size of this jard also suggest that it may well be a Sand Jardiniere as we have never seen this particular item with a pedestal base. This item measures 11" across and stands 9 3/4" tall. There is a script D in Blue on the side for the Artist Cypher of Anthony Dunlavy (will not photograph due to color being too close to background and slip painted initial). The interior of the Jard. has separated letters which when put together spell out part of the company name WELLER. The Monotone BLUE ON BLUE decoration is even more RARE than the Blue Louwelsa Line and can be seen in the Encyclopedia of Weller Pottery. This is the LARGEST version of this Jard in this Glaze that we have seen in almost 40 years dealing in American Art Pottery.. Why not be the ONLY KID ON THE BLOCK to own one? There is one small glaze pop from the making on the rim, which is very hard to see a very tight hairline at the rim as can be seen in the photo's and some crazing discoloration which can be professional removed by and expert restoration specialist. No other condition issues and NO repairs to this item. Shipping is $18.00 in the Continental U.S.

$150.00

Nice J.B. Owens Utopian Line American Art Pottery Lamp Vase/Base. This item has not been taken apart by us as we will leave this for the new owner. The overall height is 24" tall. The Owens Pottery Utopian Hand Artist Decorated section measures 10 3/8" tall. This same shape and decoration appears in "THE COLLECTORS GUIDE TO OWENS POTTERY by FRANK L. HAHN" "page 67, plate 95, shape 010". The base has a shaded Green to Brown Ground with Hand Painted Pansy's on the front of the ceramic section. There are what appears to be possibly Artist Initials on the reverse side. There are some small scratches and normal production flaws common to Owens Utopian line pottery. This item is circa 1910. There appears to be either a small flaw or repair, we could not tell which under the top cap, for this reason we are selling this item as is. It is very hard to see and is possibly nothing more than an in the making flaw. The Metal sections appear to be very old and possibly original, but need a good polishing as the finish is discolored and worn. Still a very nice early American Art Pottery Lamp Vase/Base in overall good condition. Just add a shade and you have a Great A&C item for your home! Shipping is $12.00 in the Continental US.
