Cast metal Buddha in Bhumisparsa mudra, Pala-Mon style, Pagan (Bagan) Burma; There is an extrusion which was broken or eroded on the mid back of the buddha, about the size of half a penny. Hooks or rings were often cast on the back of Buddha images in Pagan so that they could be attached in temples. 11th-12th Century, height = 10"

This beautifully executed small porcelain dish was made as a presentation piece for a temple in Japan. It shows a Bodhisattvas meditating under a pine tree. In addition to blue and white, there is green and a lacquer red color as well. The foliated rim is in a dark brown wash. There is also a spurious Chinese six character reign for Wan Li (Ming Dynasty) 1573-1619. All this within a single blue circle (not double as in Chinese ceramics.) Taisho era, circa 1920-1939. Japanese porcelain bowl with bird and iris center surrounded by a cloud border. The exterior in a bamboo and flower design. Because of this bowl's age (pre 1868) the blue is from cobalt and not an artifical dye. Condition is not perfect. The glaze is in good condition but there is a stapled repair to a hairline crack. Circa Late Edo era, 1800-1868. Diameter=10".

This Japanese Temple Bell is cast in bronze approx. 1/8 of an inch thick with simple concentric rings around the bell topped with a floret type design. The handle cast separately in great detail. The clapper is also metal and the sound is pure and piercing. Circa, 1930's; height= 7 inches.

This is a Japanese (faithfully and skillfully) executed reproduction of a Chinese Fukien 15th Century CENSER (filled with sand and used on a Buddhist alter to burn incense.) The soft cream colored crackle glaze is well applied and covers about 70-80% of the footrim. The color is actually more white-cream than the bluish tinge in the photo. Bottom is unglazed. A well modeled Terracotta bust of an Avalokitesvara from either Thailand or Cambodia. Some pitting and abrasions and a broken right ear lobe which is to be expected in a terracotta object of this age. Mounted on a wooden stand, the total height is 9.5" x 4 inches. The actual height of the head itself is about 6" x almost 4". There is a Certificate of Antique which states that this is the "style of Banteay Srei to the 18th century."

Bodhisattva portrayed in a kneeling position, with hands together. Casting is a bit "rough," and patina is partly obscured with gold and clear lacquer. Celadon glaze BOWL from Sawankhalok, Thailand, decorated with turned lines below a faux-foliated rim and combed lines with a simple double circle in the center. The outside had no decoration other than three broadly spaced bands. A clear olive green glaze. No glaze covering the footrim. Condition is excellent. Circa 19th Century. Diameter at rim is 9.1 inches. Height is 3" and diameter of footrim is 3.5"
