Rustic carved wood Laotian folk Buddha. Hand carved, long ago, by a villager from a single piece of wood, as a donation to the village temple, to make merit or for home worship. Wood is in good condition but little pigment remain. Size: 11 1/4 inch tall, 3 1/4 inch wide, 1 3/4 inch deep.
Antique provencial sitting Buddha from Laos. This Type of Buddha was carved and painted by hand by a villager in Laos for either giving to the temple to make merit or for home worship. Wood is in good condition with mild insect damage. Small traces of paint are still visible on this primitive Buddha image.

Phra Sangkadchai or Sangkachai bronze statue. Often confused as a Chinese Laughing Buddha, Phra Sangkadchai, a Thai spelling of Mahakaccayanathera, was a Buddhist Arhat (in Sanskrit) during the time of the Lord Buddha. Lord Buddha praised Phra Sangkadchai for his excellence in explaining sophisticated dharma (or dhamma) in an easily and correctly understandable manner. Thai Chiang Saen Singha One seated Buddha. This Buddha in completely unique to us. The Buddha image is siting on a surface that is up turned on both sides. This is said to be seated on old style Chinese money. Most commonly the Buddha sits upon a lotus. The statue is in good shape (please see enlargements). Circa 19 century to early 20th. Size: 20 1/2 inch height, 16 inch width, 9 inch depth.
19th century Bangkok style seated Buddha. This extremely ornate bronze cast Buddha with it's tall base is an excellent example of the Rattanakosin or Bangkok era Buddha image. The image is slightly tilted to one side and if purchased, should have a small wood base made,to compensate. Size: 21 inch height, 14 1/2 inch width, 9 inch depth.

Thai Thep Kinnaree bronze statue mounted on wood base. Thep Kinnaree is one of the loveliest of the Himmapan beings. Described as a beautiful half-woman, half swan, with the head and torso of a woman yet below the delicately tapered waist she has the body, tail and legs of a swan.
