Completely hammered surface of this impeccable Secession design box with a central raised oval medallion upon its top. The rectangular hinged lid rests upon an outward curved form box with four disc feet. A clear Wiener Werkstatte influence design created by the WMF (Wurttembergische Metalwaren Fabrik) workshop in Germany circa 1930's. Wooden lining. Dimensions: 2 1/2" H, 4 3/8" W, 6 1/2" L.

Splendid Silver Snuff Box in the form of a clam shell. Beautifully chased detail to the shell design. Top enhanced with a sweeping foliate cartouche. Scalloped edging is even evident within at clasp surround. Gilded interior. German hallmarks for 800 Fine Silver along with assay mark for Braunschweig, Germany (Lower Saxony), circa 1910. Dimensions: 1 1/8" H, 1 3/4" W, 2" L.

Bold Vienna Secession design on this geometrically paneled WMF jewel box. Stylized foliate and clover designs show a Josef Hoffmann influence. Illustrated in Art Nouveau Domestic Metalwork Form Wurttembergische Metallwaren Fabrik, a reprint of the firms' 1906 catalogue, page 298. Made in Germany circa 1905. Firm's well known ostrich mark upon base. Dimensions: 3 1/2" H, 4 7/8" L, 3 1/2" W.
