A very nice and funny mask figuring an unusual joker. Superb patinated old polychromia.
Very good condition in spite of few chips due to great age at least from XIXth. H 22 cm, wide 18 cm, presented on an iron stand.

An interesting mask from Nuo Theater figuring a the famous deity Erlan. also called "the second ". However you must be aware that this mask is not very old, possibly around 50 years, but obviously it is not handicraft. In some way it is interesting as it indicates that people have maintain carving Nuo theater masks during the Mao Period.

A very old mask from Nuo theater figuring the face of an old man or possibly also a monk face. Note that the mask shows several local repairs and had been completely splitted and rejoined but no part is missing. Very old polychromia. age is around 150 years or more Height 25 cm, Wide 21 cm, the masks is presented on an iron stand.

Very interesting and fine Nuo performance old mask probably from the Tujia people of Guizhou. Although primarily animistic in nature, Nuo rituals, have incorporated Taoist and Buddhist deities into their ceremonies.
