It has a very slight tan brown (Batavian) glaze to the upper and lower border and it has the expected minor glaze flaws, original to the manufacture. This item is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, staining, losses, repairs or damage; it has an easily removed cork set inside the vase, probably put there to stabilize flowers. This vase dates to c1750. This 7" high and 3-1/4" diameter vase features delicate enamel painted greens, and orange, rose pink, yellow and black, with blue highlights and gilding. This vase has the not unusual fritty bottom finish (from resting on sand when cooling), and has a large quantity of gilt decoration, possibly done in Europe in the 18th century after being imported. It is in excellent condition with no repairs or damage, and only very minor signs of wear to the gilding. A beauty! The bottles (which were made in the US) are clear glass with ribbed shoulders and they are marked U.S.A. 4 J.B.W. Co. 9 5 OZ. 2 and they measure 3" x 1-3/4" and they stand 4-1/4" tall. The fitted removable pierced brass bases have lovely enamelling over brass flowers and plants, in pleasing shades of purple, green, blue and aqua. The lids are similarly enamelled. The lids don't have liners and may have had cork, and the bottles have a small opening for dispensing a splash of after-shave or talc. They are unsigned, and they are even engraved on the bottom. They were owned by an American officer who served in China in the 1920s. This great pair is in excellent condition, with no cracks, chips, dents, corrosion or damage other than some slight losses and minor cracking to areas of the enamel (slight, and apparent only under close observation), and the loss of most of the original gilding which was over the brass. This necklace consists of a large cloisonne enamel flat bead and two cloisonne round beads, small beads of natural angel coral and two sizes of natural red coral beads, with gold plated spacer beads and unusual and finely hand carved wood or nut beads depicting Chinese flowers, leaves and figures (possibly immortals). The carving on the vintage necklace is quite fine, and the largest cloisonne bead measures 1-7/16" across; the smallest spacer beads measure 1/16". The gilt snap catch has wirework and mesh and it is stamped SILVER, and this lovely item is in excellent condition with no chips, dents, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. It has been re-strung a few years back on fine plastic cord. There is an occasional unevenness and a fine partial hairline crack in one coral bead, but these may be natually occuring in the coral, and they do not detract from this beautiful Chinese necklace.
