This is an extraordinary shibuichi koro of tripodic form, its domed
lid with enameled lappets in jewel-like hues and excellent wirework. Realistically
wrought flowers in brilliant enamels are overlaid in clusters upon its surface
and a silver and enameled band of kiku petals encircles the finial.
The mirror-like surface of the shibuichi alloy provides a vivid
contrast to the exquisite tones of the floral arrangements executed in high relief.

A globular cloisonne vase with shakudo mounts, a lone sparrow flying over tall grasses on a soft gray-to-green graduated ground. Executed with delicate musen and fine-wiring techniques, the effect of the bird-in-flight against a vast sky at dusk is accentuated by peach-tinted clouds overhead. Great Meiji cloisonné is more than evident in this vase – in the master’s choice of shape, full and rounded and in its exquisite subject. Kawade Shibataro double-gourd signature mark on the base. Here is an excellent aikuchi- mounted tanto (short blade) with beautifully worked cloisonne koshirae. On the scabbard and hilt, a dynamic dragon worked in fine wires, covers the ground of the deep blue-enameled scabbard.
Deft shadings in various tones of blue and white naturalistically follow the sinuous lines of the dragon's powerful body. Continuing with the dragon theme, the beautifully wrought silver fittings on this sword are carved in low relief, with dragons and stylized waves. This ...click for details

A large Chinese cloisonné covered box formed as a cart drawn
by a powerful ox. In opulent, baroque-style, its opaque enamels in iron red,
pink, black and white are contained by heavily gilt wires with stylized
decorations embedded in its turquoise-enameled ground. Rich in symbolism,
archaic dragons, phoenix, lotus and jeweled necklaces cover the entire
piece.
This whimsical sculpture obviously has been used, the interior of the
cart, detachable from the ox, showing slight signs of age.
