An unusual, beautifully decorated small jardiniere whose under plate is 8 1/2" across (stands 5 1/4"). Apparently made to display that one small yet special spring flower. Highly decorated with flowers and luster gold gilt. On the back of the under plate is the stamp "HALGA DECOR MAIN" with the container additionally bearing the Limoges stamp. My guess is that it dates to about 1900.

A silver tea caddy spoon, just over 3 1/2" in length. There are hallmarks on the rear - the Birmingham mark; the maker's marks, "L & W", and the Letter "S", but no sterling mark.

A earlier needlework sampler exercising the alphabet, the Lord's prayer and a poetic sentiment about momento mori. Signed "Ellennor Whitehouse" and dated 1787. Site of the sampler is 12 1/4X 8 1/4". Been re-framed in an antique-like ebonized and gilt frame and conserved. Damage to the sampler is repaired sympathetically , middle right side, upper left corner and lower middle and right side.

A carved and painted vessel of African origin, 12" in height and about 8 1/2" round. The hollowed out vessel makes a good jardinière, supported by four legs and a round base, all carved form a single piece of soft wood. Maybe less than 50 years old, since most wood African artifacts do not survive well in their moist, humid environments.
