This (unmarked but tested and guaranteed) 15K yellow gold brooch consists of a raised fancy scrollwork front with black enamel, a circle of high quality and lustre natural pearls surrounding a central crystal enclosed compartment with a swirl of medium-brown hair, and a polished mother of pearl backing under the nicely arranged lock of hair. It measures 2-1/2" x 2", it closes with a c-clasp with its original extended pin, and it has a loop for hanging as a pendant. The unusual mother of pearl backing has wonderful pink and green fire, and this pin weighs a substantial 37.4 grams. It is in very good original condition with no chips, cracks, losses, corrosion, repairs or damage other than that one end is a bit dented upwards, and there is a small scrape to the enamel. It is stamped GENUINE CLOISONNE and it is in very good condition with no dents, cracks, losses, corrosion, repairs or damage other than a bit of rubbing to the gilding and a small loss to the original c-clasp's retaining loop, however it still works and securely holds the pin. The bottles (which were made in the US) are clear glass with ribbed shoulders and they are marked U.S.A. 4 J.B.W. Co. 9 5 OZ. 2 and they measure 3" x 1-3/4" and they stand 4-1/4" tall. The fitted removable pierced brass bases have lovely enamelling over brass flowers and plants, in pleasing shades of purple, green, blue and aqua. The lids are similarly enamelled. The lids don't have liners and may have had cork, and the bottles have a small opening for dispensing a splash of after-shave or talc. They are unsigned, and they are even engraved on the bottom. They were owned by an American officer who served in China in the 1920s. This great pair is in excellent condition, with no cracks, chips, dents, corrosion or damage other than some slight losses and minor cracking to areas of the enamel (slight, and apparent only under close observation), and the loss of most of the original gilding which was over the brass. The pin measures 3" x 1-3/4", and the bird cage is suspended from a black painted bow with a safety catch; the black cage swings freely, and the bird is mounted on a pivoting arm with a spring mount. The bird itself has rhinestones, blue and red enamel painting and a red rhinestone eye; the base of the cage is set with rhinestones as well. Unsigned, this scarce and interesting pin is in remarkably fine shape for its age, the pot metal pins of this period and type seldom survive intact. It retains its original spring, mounts and painting. This item is in excellent original condition with no breaks, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than some wear to the black paint on the back and some minor yellowing of the rhinestones. This 1-1/4" x 7/8" purse style locket features a small chain for wear suspended from a chatelaine or bracelet and it features turquoise or robin's-egg blue enamel on one side (the other is unenamelled and is embossed). It has a snap-on style safety catch and it is stamped STERLING on the interior. These were sometimes used to hold relics or miniature rosaries, and would work well also as a small pill box. The garnet is claw-set in an incised star and surrounded by an enamelled six-pointed star in cobalt enamel (more purple than in our photographs). The twisted-shaft pin measures 2-3/4" long and the head of this stickpin measures 5/8" across. It weighs an impressive 6.4 grams and the stone has been checked by a gemmologist. This item is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, scrapes, dents, monograms, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than some old solder on the back which was added to lock the threaded shaft to the head of the pin. This set consists of the 1-1/4" across brooch with a safety catch and the 17-3/4" lavaliere type necklace with a satin finish clasp (the clasp is the same design as used for pearl necklaces). Each piece has cobalt enamelled flower petals with central genuine claw-set rubies, and there are a few random spots with a soft pink enamel around the leaves. The 1" x 1-3/8" pendant has an enamelled drop with a 5.2 mm genuine cultured pearl. Each piece is stamped with a full set of Italian marks - both the 750 (18K) mark and the company city mark (1 AR for Uno A Erre of Arezzo) are in a coffin shaped mark (used in Italy before 1968) and there is an additional mark with UNO AR, which is for Uno A Erre, a highly regarded fine quality Arezzo jewellery firm. The pin weighs 5.0 grams and the necklace 9.3 grams. Made by Blackinton of North Attleboro, Massachusetts (1862-1967), this sterling silver pin was constructed from French baisse-taille enamel mounted with a pin assembly with a safety catch. The bright gold flowers and wreath on the brooch set it off beautifully against the engine-turned enamelling; it has a pattern number 9707, and it has some solder where the company attached the pin to the enamelled gilt-silver disc. The entire back is satin finish and gilt - the solder is original to the manufacture of the brooch, and is not a repair. It is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, scrapes, dents, monograms, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs.
